New TABC Mobile App Revolutionizes Inspection Process for Alcoholic Beverage Industry Members
A new mobile app designed to help businesses save time on their required annual TABC compliance inspection is now available.
The TABC: Compliance Reporting app is available for any Apple or Android smart device equipped with a camera and GPS service. The app allows TABC-licensed businesses to complete and submit their annual inspection report using their smart device after receiving an initial registration link from TABC. Reports are completed by answering a series of questions specific to each business' permit, with some questions requiring the user to take pictures of required signage at the business location. On average, reports can be completed and submitted to TABC in less than 30 minutes. Previously, in-person inspections with a TABC auditor could take several hours.
"Texas has a long history of being business-friendly state." TABC Executive Director Bentley Nettles said. "We are using technology to streamline TABC's processes in order to allow effective regulation while reducing the impact on Texas businesses."
All TABC-licensed businesses are required to submit their compliance report via the app between September 1 – December 1 each year. For months, the agency has communicated with businesses statewide to inform them of the transition and offer trainings. TABC has established contact phone numbers and e-mail addresses to assist license and permit holders in each of TABC's service areas:
