TABC to Host Roundtable Event for El Paso-area Alcoholic Beverage License Holders

EL PASO, Texas – Local alcoholic beverage license and permit holders are invited to the 2019 Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission's El Paso Regional Roundtable event taking place 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. August 27 at the Small Business Development Center, 9050 Viscount Blvd Bldg. B in El Paso.

Through the Paso del Norte Health Foundation's Shift+Initiative, the YMCA is proud to partner with TABC's El Paso Regional Office to host this first-time opportunity for license holders to hear directly from local TABC officials concerning agency practices and procedures. The roundtable event will include several educational sessions about alcohol licensing, alcohol use and alcohol abuse from leading experts in the field.

The event will feature sessions and discussions with local TABC representatives, the El Paso County Attorney's Office, the Alcohol Impact Network and other partners regarding enforcement and licensing processes, owner and seller server trainings, community resources, and a new self-reporting tool for licensees to report to TABC.

"One of TABC's primary goals is to ensure permit holders have the resources they need to operate their businesses while meeting their obligations under the Alcoholic Beverage Code," said Major Paul Parent, TABC Regional Enforcement Supervisor. "Events such as this roundtable allow the agency to hear directly from El Paso business owners on important issues, challenges and concerns affecting all sectors of the industry."

"We are proud to be hosting this event alongside TABC and reaching out to local business owners in an effort to improve alcohol practices and reduce the negative effects over alcohol consumption," said Jeremy Jordan, YMCA Executive Director.
