Compliance Reporting

Compliance reporting is the required self-assessment that TABC-licensed businesses with locations in Texas must complete each year between Jan. 1 and March 31.

This report asks businesses to answer questions about their operations and, when requested, provide photos to ensure their location is following the laws that apply. The entire process is completed by accessing TABC's Alcohol Industry Management System (AIMS) using an Android or Apple device at the location for which the report is being conducted.

Important note: Compliance reporting is now available for all license and permit types, including holders of a Package Store Permit (P), Wine and Malt Beverage Retailer's Permit (BG), and Brewer's License (BW) that have subordinate permits such as a Local Cartage Permit (E), Brewpub License (BP), Late Hours Certificate (LH), and more. These businesses should begin conducting compliance reports now but will be given a grace period beyond March 31.

Who Must File a Compliance Report

Holders of BW, BB, BC, BE, BF, BG, BQ, D, G, MB, N, NB, NE, P, Q, W, and X licenses and permits.

How to File a Compliance Report

  • Use an Android or Apple device.
  • Open Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
    • Do not use Apple’s Safari app — AIMS is not compatible.
    • Do not use any TABC mobile app — they are discontinued.
  • Log in to AIMS.
  • Select your business entity.
  • Click the Compliance Reporting tile.

We’ve provided tutorial videos to guide you through the process.

Preparing for Compliance Reporting

To prepare for the compliance reporting period:

  • New AIMS users must first create an AIMS account — visit our How To Use AIMS page.
  • License holders that are first-time users of AIMS must also claim their business within the system — visit our How To Use AIMS page.
  • In the AIMS account associated with each business you represent, ensure that you or the person who will be managing compliance reports for your business are labeled as a "Prime" user.
  • If you'd like others to complete your entity’s compliance reports on your behalf, identify the name and email of the person for each of your locations who will complete the compliance report. Once the reporting period opens every year, you will need this information to add these individuals as users with compliance reporting permissions for each of their assigned locations.

You can also prepare for compliance reporting by making sure the business has proper signs posted in the correct locations. To learn more, visit the TABC Sign Requirements page.
