Andrea Maceyra
Chief of Regulatory Affairs
Andrea Maceyra oversees five key industry-oriented departments: Licensing, Product Registration, Audit and Investigations, Excise Tax, and Marketing Practices. Appointed chief in September 2022, Maceyra is instrumental in developing and implementing TABC’s strategic planning and is responsible for the day-to-day regulatory functions of the agency, which regulates the $40 billion Texas alcoholic beverage industry. She guides agency employees and industry organizations in the development and integration of marketing practices standards and guidelines as they relate to the Alcoholic Beverage Code. Maceyra joined the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission in 2014 as deputy director of the Tax and Marketing Practices Division.
Before joining TABC, Maceyra was the manager of economic development for the Austin Chamber of Commerce. She successfully managed economic development marketing for the foreign and domestic recruitment of companies, coordinated and led the implementation of marketing strategies, and targeted marketing campaigns to increase awareness between the Austin business community and foreign and domestic markets.
Maceyra serves as a board member of the State Agency Council, a committee member of the Texas Department of Agriculture’s Texas Wine Industry Development Advisory Committee, and a member of the TABC Law Enforcement Training Advisory Board.
Maceyra graduated cum laude from Texas State University, receiving her Bachelor of Business Administration in journalism and mass communications, with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in English.
